Julie Daoust, Vega

Julie Daoust is the Research and Innovation Director at Vega where she oversees the product development and sustainability portfolios. Since 2001, Vega has been a leader in the plant-based and sport performance nutrition industry. In 2017, Vega became part of the Danone North America plant-based brands.

Julie received her PhD from the University of British Columbia where she studied natural product chemistry. Her passion for botanicals and plant-based nutrition led her to pursue a career in the natural health product industry where she could contribute to commercialize sustainable and nutrient-dense products.  Julie’s passion for sustainability and performance nutrition stems from her love of the outdoors, particularly the coast mountains of British Columbia where she enjoys backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and foraging for wild plants.
