Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products
Yerba Mate Beverages and Herbals
Guayakí imports an energizing beverage called yerba mate in the form of ready-to drink beverages, loose mate and mate bags. By harvesting yerba mate from the South America Atlantic rainforest, Guayakí provides the indigenous people of the rainforest with income as well as the ability to steward their land.
The yerba mate has allowed the founders of Guayakí to create a business model known as Market Driven Regeneration. The revenue generated from selling yerba mate in North America funds the protection and restoration of rainforests in South America. Drinking one serving per day of Guayakí Yerba Mate helps protect approximately 8 acres of rainforest.
